Since when are iPhones on contracts so pricey?

it's been years since i've been buying iphones apple stores on full price, instinct way £15 / $20 internet plan haven't checked contract prices until friend told me last week buying iphone ee.

told me she'd pay around £50 upfront plus £59 24 months.

yay! you've got 128gb 6s plus me! , goes; hell no, it's 6s 16gb, wouldn't believe how ridiculous is.

understand people can't afford pay £780 phone wouldn't rather save price instead?

normal people spend amount of cash carrier companies these days?!

 

it's how carriers (usa or uk or elsewhere) game numbers contract vs no contract.

carriers att did jacked mobile share rates when first introduced them couple of years ago

because of on tiered voice minutes plans plus la carte data plans (if have flip phone) aren't required data plan.

in usa. cheaper many of remain on older 700 minute voice plans rollover , still sign contract. because our flip phone lines still qualified same subsidy our other lines. can still $199 usd iphone on line 3. put flip phone on , pay $10/month line. , resell iphone profit or use on 1 of other lines.

getting mobile share. since att had jacked original rates. started reducing rates , claim bargain if installment plans or pay full price!

game. following pricing closely. main concern if monthly price per line. important thing.

average verizon customer subsidy monthly pricing per line steadily going down. , freaked out stock investors.

started devising gimmicks try make share saving people money if plan on getting new phones every 2 years end pay same or more every 2 years don't need smartphones.
