Using old HD in replacement of Optical Drive Q.


hey,

replaced original hd shipped laptop ssd drive, have since bought hd caddy, know how fitting wondering..

ssd running el capitano.

older hd running mountain lion.. when actual fitting, how change settings boot ssd still , possible browse files on older hd if been used os.

people recommend
 

if install hard drive, in addition ssd - don't need anything.
make sure ssd 10.11 set in system preferences/startup disk pane. assure when boot or restart mbpro defaults boot ssd.
if have hard drive installed second drive, appear on desktop, same plugging in external drive. have easy access files on hard drive, external drive.
and, if want boot hard drive, can change default setting in startup disk hard drive, if like.
or, once-in-a-while boot, restart while holding option key. choose whichever boot drive want use.
know can't see el capitan boot system in startup disk when booted mountain lion system. don't know why.
however, can see either boot system when restart option-boot screen. might choice, too.
