One child policy...deal with the devil?


when first heard italy's couples deciding have fewer children, saw people thought long term result economic downturn via few workers alarmist. italy growing, vibrant country , housed many companies didn't appear ever seeing decline. today country losing 155 people per day , replacement of population coming elsewhere change politics , policy. once world power, downgraded 1 of major european powers, may fall irrelevancy in future.

later on, china went same route, did largely through 1 child policy (and not choice italy) , while short term policy avoided mass starvation , disease , @ same time grew economy highest levels, makes long term less bright in outlook. long term brings in 2 new, possibly unsolvable problems:

1) few workers keep tremendous yearly demand chinese goods , services 1.4 billion people propping china's economy cannot replaced new population of far less billion people

2) way fund become large financial burden of taking care of faster growing elderly population in inverse population pyramid

imho, think 1 child policy brought on china's economic growth , averted unsustainable population growth same factor result in china losing top position world power.

china peak in population within decade undergo quick depopulation , may not able fill both skilled , unskilled positions trend continues. china man factories, offices, , agriculture positions?

note: estimates of india surpassing china in population in less ten years , moving toward 1.7 billion people happen while china moves fall below 1 billion people result in india filling more demand , surpassing china economic power of region mid-century
