hi, today installed accelsiorm pcie card samsung evo msata ssd in mac pro 3.1. booted computer using current boot drive (os x 10.10.5) , since saw ssd recognised, proceeded install el capitan on it. in middle on installation, mac rebooted, instead of booting el capitan, booted 10.6.8 partition ! rebooted computer , selected ssd @ boot time (using option key) , installation of el capitan completed without issue. now, when reboot computer , hold option key, can choose whatever os (10.6.8 or 10.10.5 sata hard disks, or 10.11 ssd), boots , works correctly, , other os partitions mounted , usable. whatever selection in startup disk preferences, computer boot 10.6.8 default ! in 10.6.8 see 10.6.8 disk in startup disk preferences. if use systemsetup setstartupdisk set disk, errors /volumes/thedisk/system/library/coreservices not valid system (where thedisk either 10.10.5 or 10.11 partition) 10.11 , 10.10.5 see bootable partitions in startup disk preferen
