hi, past few days, i've been attempting install windows 7 home premium 64 bit on mid-2010 21.5" imac little brother using bootcamp assistant. after finding out imac won't allow installation usb, tried dvd way. borrowed blank dvd's (both in format of dvd-r , dvd+r 4.7gb) friend , burnt many windows 7 iso's these discs using these software: windows 7 usb/dvd tool imgburn disk utility burn when run bootcamp assistant, make partition , when imac restarts, goes black screen saying "no bootable device - press key continue" , nothing happens after that. can't press key or eject disc, way yo pass shut down imac. i'm pretty sure burnt iso discs correctly, though i'm not sure if did correctly using imgburn (my friend did it, clicked write image disc , burnt @ slowest possible speed). thought built-in superdrive had problems because whenever inserted disc, eject after 20-30 seconds , if didn't, bootcamp "th

so have macbook pro running os 10.11 1 additional dell display. christmas received dell display, i'm having issues mac thinking new display "built-in" display. when bring display preference, shows old dell display dell e2414h, new dell display showing built-in display. both displays same, difference being how connected. older display connected via display port adaptor connecting via vga, while new display connected usb 2.0 adapter connected via vga. since new display being recognized built-in display, resolution fuzzy , task bar outside of screen. when @ resolution settings , view scaled options, set 1920x1080 ( should be). when open mac menu, shows have 2 additional displays, says new 1 30.5 inches ( 24 inches, other display). i'm assuming since macbook thinks display larger is, causing bad resolution. there way fix this? how forced macbook recognize display is?   Forums

i have noticed mac has not been sleeping when close lid. used to, close lid , throw in bag. now, passcode required immediately, screen displays desktop (or whatever had when closed it) before can opened, showing never went sleep. if go menu > sleep... however, mac sleep properly, assume. ask password way, making me assume went sleep. don't know if issue related el capitan, did not before. know because have downloaded software such nosleep , caffeine keep mac sleeping when downloading, uploading, rendering, etc. long periods of time , want mac stay awake. uninstalled both caffeine , nosleep see if problem, no luck. restored default settings in energy saver preferences. did smc reset no avail. have 90+ gb of "other" space on mac, possible there remnant file somewhere keeping mac sleeping? i have 2009 white macbook i've been using since mid 2014. know it's old, have nice desktop , plenty fast need in laptop. pretty nice upgrade ibook g4. type of person hit things when they're mad. know it's dumb it. , other day took out frustrations on macbook , threw blows keyboard, above cpu. of course, didn't come out clean. randomly shuts off. yes, have firmware updates installed. wouldn't on mavericks if didn't. question isn't why happening, know why. replacing logic board worth it? laptop i'm thinking of going used 2009 macbook pro 15' or new macbook (which wouldn't happen, use usb, ethernet, etc time). don't know if time replace or fix it, again. i'm on 1.67ghz powerbook g4 15' enough temp laptop, if rid of macbook i'll sata convertor , throw ssd in here speed while i'm in-between laptops.   yes, it's worth it.

so have classic mac pro, macbook pro, , mac mini (i'm lucky, know). of these computers can transfer files between each other on network, except cannot transfer files macbook pro mac pro, , don't know why. when try drag , drop macbook pro mac pro, on apparently hard drive has, dialogue "finder wants make changes. type password allow this." if "the operation can’t completed because don’t have permission access “screen shot 2015-09-09 @ 7.06.06 pm.png”." , i'll folder , file 0 byte file size trying drop it. i've tried changing permissions , applying down across files info dialogue, i've tried adding users read/write access in system preferences / sharing, i've tried trashing finder plist on macbook pro , mac pro... keeps happening. nothing seems work. have ideas? works fine both ways between every other computer except macbook pro going mac pro. i'm perplexed.
