hi all, i've owned 27" imac mid-2011 since new , on past year have noticed it's beginning slow down. hdd gradually filling on time i've begun hear "crunching"(best word describe it) sound coming hdd. i've been considering while, have decided upgrade ssd alongside existing 1tb hdd. have decided upgrade existing 4gb of memory 8gb due concerns of possible bottlenecking. plan on using parts owc. have few questions regarding these upgrades. will adding ssd system have negative effect on life of machine or on system performance? not have evidence make credible fear, checking coudn't hurt. once done installing new parts, need restore backup on time machine? i have bootcamp partition window's 7 , other data installed on 1tb hdd. adding ssd require me repartition hdd bootcamp, requiring me reinstall programs on windows side of machine? how go installing os x on ssd , using 1tb hdd "deep storage" things old document

hello, have made leap of faith..went snow leopard (yes,i've been on system past 5 years , loved every minute of it) el capitan. here mid-2010 macbook pro. installed new ssd , 8gb ram measure too. , yes, flies! happy have skipped versions in-between , find of features in system - split screen particularly - cool. line of work , incredibly important feature. have 10 questions need with. 1. finger gestures - used old finger gestures setting snow leopard - e.g. 3 fingers left- go back, 3 fingers right - go foward etc. there way how set in el capitan too? under trackpad in system preferences, seems not possible anymore. 2. dictionary app - great. in version, in order jump entry another, quick double- click doesn't work anymore. instead need wait cursor bit before jumps made. there way change this? so never use g3 due lack of power. it's more of desktop since don't bring me either. since pbg4 doesn't have battery, decided better put use in that. plan take powerbook me school,etc. of know nupower batteries expensive, don't have 80+ shell out. idea popped in head, why not use g3 battery in g4. proceeded take apart battery till left internals. battery fit snug in battery compartment. started seal it. didn't have electrical tape used metal tape, lightbulbfun pointed out short out battery needed insulate it. took old video game case , cut out plastic fit battery compartment. taped using metal tape. dirty job done. realize took apart fine battery. means, rant feel better sitting around doing nothing. selling process due parents. , here's end result. in all, feels solid , not loose. aware it's not pretty don't care long portable.   i guess don'

greetings guys! cant focus study today pulled out emac g4 , next thing know im installing windows xp home on virtual pc 7. emac last model, 2005 1.42ghz g4, 1gb ram, 80gb hdd, combo drive , airport card. im using type out in tenfourfox. anyways, able strip windows xp down, removing eye candy , unnecessary software didnt need , xp home sp2 256mb of ram quite snappy. booting virtual pc 7 in under minute. fast until open browser. (latest version firefox) firefox bogs down, while internet explorer cant display google's web page. got youtube after maybe 10 minute of loading. question, there anyway vm speed? im running leopard , said os in vm xp, snappy. suggestions here?   will machines take more ram? between vpc , tff i'd bet it's out of memory. can open activity monitor see it's doing. ssd speed swapping, think more ram show biggest benefit.
