How well should a GTX 980 Ti work in a Mac Pro 2009?


i upgraded mac pro (8 core, 2.93 ghz) gtx 680 mac edition gtx 980 ti macvidcards. expecting big boost in video power, can't tell difference. tried run tests. novabench 680 got score of 188 , 980 scored 178. cinebench r15 680 scored 48.58 in opengl test, while 980 scored 43.11. play eso , have not noticed big improvement in frame rate. using latest nvidia driver.

seems wasted $900. there trick missing or typical?
 

because nvidia drivers optimised kepler , earlier. nvidia added preliminary maxwell architecture support in august drivers far far far maxwell card can in windows.
