Mac pro dilemma


hi,
friend has possibility buy mac pro, has 2 variations:
mac pro 2008
2x 2,8 ghz quad-core intel xeon
16 gb ram 800 mhz ddr 2 fb-dimm
grafika nvidia geforce gt 8800 512 mb
or
mac pro 2010
2x 2,4 ghz quad-core intel xeon
6 gb ram 1066 mhz ddr 3 ecc
grafika nvidia geforce gt 120 512 mb
need work premiere or avid software.
prefer?
help.
 

get 2010. have 2008 , love it, 2010 i7 , gives additional virtual cores. additionally, has faster system bus , more upgradeable.
