Mail app launched 900 windows: can't send mail


immediately after upgrading el capitan, mail app launched 1,000 windows error: "cannot send message" .

gmail user , don't use mac's mail app.

briefly entertained adding missing smtp server don't know if it's trying send thousands of emails, or it's thousands of attempts send maybe 1 email in outbox?

i'd prefer blow away entire mail on mac.

did go system prefs , uncheck mail icloud , gmail account.

thoughts?

your video shows it's trying send emails.

see unchecked gmail in system preferences > internet accounts.

remove mail's contents

go user's library.(see below)
scroll down mail folder.
in mail folder delete contents. free messages have downloaded mac.
empty trash.

show user's library

user's library folder hidden default. unhide: select finder in dock. under go in menu bar > hold down option key , you’ll see library.

Help please Strange logs
