when film in limited release , preparing go wide on october 23, projections debut box office weekend between $15 , $19 million. according box office mojo, date, overall lifetime gross of steve jobs hitting projections opening weekend: $16,684,073. in 2 weeks movie in limited run in los angeles , new york, displayed impressive numbers, earning fifteenth spot highest grossing per-theater average film in movie history.

unfortunately, when steve jobs debuted wide, earned 7th spot @ weekend box office $7.3 million take in first 3 days. disappointment of film's performance in direct contradiction bevy of positive reviews, ones hinted @ oscar nominations michael fassbender , kate winslet on month before movie released.
