Lightroom user - using Photo


i longtime lightroom user , have whole file system on mbp created through lightroom.

curious photo. if start photo , use same images use with lr create photo catalogue/library/collection (or whatever photo calls it), in way corrupt or compromise lr file system work with? lr behave badly if reference same images in photo? can use both lr , photo independently on same image files on hd?

actually, 1 of negatives of photos (imho), doesn't write metadata files, can positive here. lr write metadata changes files, photos won't read them without import of same file (another negative, positive here). upshot neither talking other, referencing same image in both doesn't create conflict.

if edit in lr, can export jpg same folder, , import in photos, , use there how will. lr won't import photo exported lr (unless tell to), again, not conflict.

note photos has option of managed ("copy into...") library. folks have photos copy managed library exports lr after post processing in lr. advantage photos in managed photos library can shared via icloud photo library, if intend use that.

both lr , photos designed work non-destructively part (metadata ratings, keywords, gps being bit of exception) can work side-by-side.
