El Capitan Update/Download

i'm running os x 10.10.5 on 2013 macbook pro. when check in app store updates, i'm told no updates available. right? if try download anyway, little timer thing keep spinning no indication download taking place. what's happening here?

i've not had type of problem previous os upgrades. appreciated.

hi
1st day new os out, didn't show on update screen. downloaded main home page of app store home page.
new os not update per se, new os?
don't know why getting no progress bar download. there may progress bar window underneath open windows.
