Misplaced editing cursor in Excel


interested know if has seen (and resolved) frustrating aspect of latest version of excel on mac (v15.16).

if select cell in excel, click in formula bar edit formula related cell, position of editing cursor "off" approx 1/2 character. end result if try insert or delete @ point change wrong character in formula. makes editing hit or miss , incredibly frustrating.

has else seen same behavior?

os x el capitan 10.11.1
excel 2016, v 15.16 (151105)
 

simply use apple numbers.
