hi everyone
know title sounds daring, in fact going ask wether mac mini 2011 able run 4k monitor:
specs:
mac mini 2011
2.5 ghz intel core i5
10 gb ram
256 gb ssd , 500 gb hdd in fusion drive
amd radeon hd 6630m 256 mb gddr5-memory
have belkin express hd thunderbolt 2 dock connected, , have 2-monitor setup, 2 full hd monitors - 1 connected via hdmi on mac, , other on hdmi-output on belkin dock.
there no information on web regarding mac mini 2011 , 4k monitor - maybe because it's kamikaze-project. work? if connect through hdmi-port in belkin dock (that advertises has 4k support) able use it, though not have thunderbolt 2?
use mac mini or photo editing , light video-editing (no fancy after-effect or motion things) 1080p video. 4k monitor meant top notch eye-candy

- thunderbolt port support 2560-by-1600 resolution
- hdmi port support 1920-by-1200 resolution
you don't have @ least hdmi 1.4 give uhd @ 30hz , suspect gpu does't have speed fill screen (pixels per second). video memory little low since integrated intel chips use minimum of 1gb uhd. thunderbolt 1 might issue well, related video bandwidth. can't see how higher 2560x1600 setup.

apparently need @ least mac mini (late 2014).
looks won't work.
