DIY Home Security and Automation Advice


i looking invest in new system home can automate it. won't going automated have 1 connected system monitor security (doors, garage, windows, etc), thermostat, lights (the ability schedule lights turn on , off, , wifi connected light switches) , other potential options outside of this.

know there lot of options out there advice on guys best.

deciding on homekit devices, zwave devices or other standalone products ismartalarm.

i'm pretty new having started amazon echo , phillips hue lighting system work nicely together. have harmony smart hub use universal remote , integrates amazon echo through iftt.

i'm sort of on fence how further want go this. things kind of decided though can done, easier non-automated method?
