NO logon chime


mavericks imac--all else ok--looked @ sound pref--don't see it, readily--so far better ask, right first time, me jerk around stuff , screw more stuff up...should easy deal experienced chimer==thanks weaseler when need him
 

umm, if understand correctly, you're not getting apple boot chime on startup else works ok?

if so:

1) turn off imac
2) press power button turn on, press , hold the following keys down @ same time: cmd, alt, p, r.
3) continue hold down until hear apple boot chime. may see black screen or brief flickers on lcd.
4) let go, it'll boot os.

Resolved why bool value is not changed in dispatch
