iPhone brightness fluctuating on its own?


i stream videos in bed before falling asleep. since have lights turned off, manually turn down phone's brightness lowest setting. , time time, notice phone dims little second (i don't know how phone can dim more since have brightness setting lowest possible...), , comes set brightness. annoying @ times since images on the videos become dark can't recognize what's being displayed. can't how happens, happens 2-4 times during 30-minute duration.

happens on streaming apps use - youtube, mubi , shomi. not sure whether happens on other apps (not video streaming), whether ios or hardware, whether these specific apps causing this, or whether happens when videos being played.

else experience this? have 5s 8.4.1.
 

this may basic have "auto brightness" turned on? maybe culprit?
