MBA as server — what about the battery?


the battery in mid 2012 mba in state "replace soon". buy new macbook or mbp in couple of months after next hw releases, 1 thought use current mba ci server. ci server mba running 24/7 attached power chord. of time idling, once in while hard work half hour. understand not intended use case, work? , if so, have replace battery if fed external power source? (if case makes sense replace battery possible).

alternative of cause buy mini ci server, if can use old mba of cause feel better. maybe battery by-passed when mba attached external power source (apart charging, is), , guess behave mini use case?
 

when battery fails completely, if computer attached power, run @ approximately half speed.
