Macbook Pro 13 Inch, Mid 2009 - time to upgrade?

as title states, have 13 inch macbook pro, mid 2009 laptop , time upgrade. work full time home on computer every day , spend lot of time watching spinning wheel. computer has started majorly heat , fan doesn't seem able keep longer. happens when i'm in middle of doing webinar. know i've gotten money's worth out of computer, haven't quite decided should upgrade to. advice wonderful.

i'm not doing heavy computing or gaming, use laptop 8-9 hours day. i'm logged citrix entire time. lot of webinars through gotomeeting. use quickbooks, email , surf web. few pictures, that's it. have apple products, want stay them love how sync together.

should stick macbook pro or switch air or regular macbook? i've been thinking upgrading year, when haven't bought new laptop in 6 years, sticker shock bit much.

if want last long possible go macbook pro retina display since specs better last longer air weaker specs
