New Features in tvOS 9.2 Beta 3: Dictation Support and App Store Siri Search

throughout tvos 9.2 beta testing process, apple has been steadily adding new features. today's third beta introduced pair of new features quite useful: dictation , app store search siri. we've made quick video shows off new features , how work on fourth-generation apple tv.

new dictation option, it's possible apple tv owners dictate text , spell user names , passwords rather typing them. after installing tvos 9.2 beta 3, users prompted enable or disable dictation.

after dictation enabled, tvos search bar alternates between blank search field , option hold down siri button on remote dictate text. while speaking remote, live levels meter displayed on screen can sure dictation feature activated.

first version of tvos had few options entering text, requiring users type in passwords , user names on-screen text entry box siri remote. since then, apple has added support apple remote app, tvos 9.2 bringing support dictation , bluetooth keyboards.

app store search siri second new feature in today's beta. new siri support, voice-based searches can used find specific apps or app categories, such games, in app store. feature enhances process of finding apps on fourth-generation apple tv, limited text-based searches.

along app store search siri, bluetooth keyboard support, , dictation, tvos 9.2 includes support icloud photo library , live photos, , allows users group apps folders on home screen on ios devices. includes new app switcher interface, , brings mapkit developers.

tvos 9.2 available developers, should see public release in spring alongside ios 9.3, os x 10.11.4, , watchos 2.2.
