hi, have sd card full of music that's set artist>album>songs know how write script automatically create m3u playlist of song in each artist folder. want have 1 individual playlist includes of artists songs/albums in one. example artist 1 include have 1 playlist includes songs in each of 3 albums on sd card. preferably, i'd save of playlists in main directory on sd card can pull them in car. it's worth, reason want music interface in car reads each individual folder...so if want list random songs each artists random albums can't...since they're split subfolders mentioned above.   hi, should straight forward. brief @ wikipedia page appears m3u format quite simple. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/m3u if you, i'd @ kind of shell script, using 'find' command. https://developer.apple.com/library/mac/documentation/darwin/reference/manpages/man1/...

i have 2014 imac 5k. it's 1 year old. in general i'm happy it, 1 of main regrets have got 512 gb ssd instead of 1 tb. i'm considering selling current machine , buying 2015 model 1 tb ssd. i'd max ram 64 gb because fair amount of photoshop work (photography). have 32 gb now, though, , that's enough i'm not sure i'll see of difference. biggest appeals bigger internal hard drive (which can't upgrade myself), faster flash storage, higher ram capacity, , better graphics card—though don't gaming. wondering if it's worth upgrade. did else go 2014 2015 imac? if so, why, , happy did?   i think you're better off keeping existing rig. you'll end losing money. difference between 2 models small, it's not worth imo   Forums Macs ...

@ssls6 able set old imac following below instruction successfully. this 1) buy 2 external usb3 drives (a 2tb , 4tb) 2) make 4tb time machine backup drive, call backup 3) make 2tb media drive, call media 4) make sure itunes preferences/advanced tick boxes selected "keep media organized", quit itunes 5) copy entire folder "itunes media" home itunes folder external "media" drive 6) start itunes , go itunes preferences/advanced , tell new media folder location 7) quit , restart itunes, test songs, movies, ...that play 8) can delete old "itunes media" folder in home itunes folder. no longer used. 9) turn on time machine , have backup both macintosh hd , media if add music, go automatically external media drive. artwork cache still on ssd seeing stuff still fast. i'm not sure how set tm. i'm assuming "backup" should have no music on it? (once removed previous backups) i'm confused ...
