i bought macbook pro 15" feb of 2011. last year, i've customized 1tb hybrid drive , 16gb ram. had problems (gray screen no logo) , particularly on graphics (distortion). ran repair extension program https://www.apple.com/support/macbookpro-videoissues/ cut story short, brought apple store repair , said covered warranty. ended replacing logic board. replacing 1 tb hybrid drive standard sata 500gb hd, , 16gb ram 8gb ram. without costs on part. (which awesome!) when asked genius admin, said 16gb causes issues in system. , recommend 8gb. why? worked fine me. hd, notes says bad sector that's why replaced it. when got home put hybrid disk (they returned old hd , ram) in enclosure , run utility disk tests on it, fine. guess questions is, hd damaged? , 16gb ram causes problems macbook pro 2011?   i had issue 3 years ago. because laptop out of warranty , program didn't exist gave up

so today doing pretty cpu intensive stuff on macbook , had 60w adapter me. macbook plugged in , supposedly charging (it had green light @ start). noticed progressed through hours, laptop started needed charging. macbook drained down 20% before stopped using , let charge again. i'm guessing isn't battery mean can still use laptop longer time before. charging indicator showed charging time of 20:00 (20 hours) ridiculous. think normal behaviour dgpu , other aspects of machine use more 60w provided , require more, 85w provide. 85w not included faster charge out of usability. i'll have purchase more now! hi all, have 2010 imac 27" , running el capitan date. have 12 gb ram , plenty of hard drive space. last night running itunes , listening music , browsing web. upon clicking button on web page or not doing anything, itunes stop playing song , pause. press play , song continue stop again after couple of minutes while still browsing web. tried safaria & chrome , happens both. there no real consistency when happens or how long music plays before stopping. crazy thing if let song stop , don't replay, starts again. last night left room itunes open , started playing again. had close app sure not start again. morning listening itunes no problems not have web browsers open. can't sure, think happening (music stopping) when clicked on other things web, "about mac" apple menu choice. have never experienced before. can offer advice? thanks, matt   Forums
